Reviews and Ratings
I was pleasantly surprised by the transformation of this hotel into a stylish boutique establishment with top-notch services. The rooms were lovely, featuring private plunge pools and comfortable beds, a significant improvement from the previous outdated look. However, the dining experience left something to be desired with limited options available.
Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience overall. The rooms, though spacious and cozy, could benefit from some updates. However, they had all the essential amenities, including a large comfortable bed and a private roof terrace with amazing views. The service was exceptional, with the staff being very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, right in the center of Franschhoek. The dining was superb, although the absence of some menu items was noted. The facilities were well-kept and convenient for guests.
The hotel surpassed my expectations with big and comfortable rooms, despite the slightly old-fashioned decor and the sloped ceiling making it a bit tricky to walk past the bed. The hotel's lovely atmosphere will remain after the 2019 renovation, and the service, especially from Byron, was incredibly welcoming and helpful.
The hotel provided a mixed experience with bright, clean, and stylishly decorated rooms that felt luxurious without being over the top. The superb room was very well appointed with the added bonus of a great private outside space. However, the overall experience was disappointing due to some issues.
Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight. The rooms were really nice, but a bit smokey with the fireplace on. The service was top-notch, especially thanks to Byron who was the perfect host. The location couldn't be better for exploring Franschhoek on foot, and the dining experience was impressive with homemade dishes. However, the behavior of Chapter House was unwelcoming, not reflecting the usual South African hospitality.
